Planned in advance, inside whatever vehicle-access window the pier grants, and hand-carried from there. The rigs break down for exactly this. It is the single item that decides whether a pier date works, so we settle it before the quote is final rather than on the morning.

Racing simulator activations on the Santa Monica Pier.
An oceanfront deck with no loading dock, limited vehicle access, marine air and weather that gets a vote. It is one of the harder places in LA County to put an activation — and one of the better ones, once it is standing.
What we have already run here.
At Insurance Fest, a two-simulator Formula 4 activation for Epay Policy turned a sponsorship into 54 named decision-maker contacts and 443 laps at 95% rig utilization across a single day — roughly 18 hours of aggregate attention, at 17 to 24 minutes per contact.
The wait between runs ran five to twelve minutes, and that queue was the real asset: every driver stood inside the sponsor footprint with nothing else to do, which is exactly the window the reps used. The full case study is here.
No dock, no vehicle route, no excuses.
Pier load-in is hand-carry from wherever the access window puts us. The rigs break down to make that possible, and the route is agreed with the pier and your organiser before the date rather than negotiated on the morning with a truck idling.
Everything else follows from the deck being outdoors and exposed: tenting over the rigs and screens, cable runs routed and matted, and a crew on site through the day. Most of our activations run outdoors, so this is the normal case rather than a special request.
What we need on your floor
- Motion
- Full-motion
- Every rig. No static seats, no exceptions.
- Footprint
- 5′×8′
- Per rig in operation. 10′×12′ for a pair with room to queue.
- Power
- 1 outlet
- One standard 110V outlet per two rigs. No generators, no special wiring.
- Throughput
- 15–20
- Guests per hour, per simulator. Multiplies with every rig you add.
Common questions
We plan for both. Screens and rigs run under tenting, cable runs are routed and matted for a deck rather than a ballroom floor, and the crew is on site through the day rather than dropping equipment and leaving.
If conditions become severe enough to make operating unsafe, your date reschedules without penalty. That is written into the agreement, so there is no day-of negotiation while you are trying to run an event on an exposed deck.
The Insurance Fest numbers say yes: 95% rig utilization across the day, meaning the seats were essentially never empty. A venue people already want to be at does part of the work of drawing them in.
