Case Study · Brand Activation
How a full-motion racing activation drew a crowd at Puffco’s 15,000-guest block party.
PuffCon 2025 · Puffco · Los Angeles Center Studios · 3 full-motion simulators · 16 hours over 2 days
Live activation footage
That’s a new driver in the seat roughly every two minutes across all 16 hours the party was running — on three rigs, at a venue where nothing was ticketed and nobody had to queue for anything.

Day two matched day one
132 drivers set a recorded lap on the first day and 126 on the second. Novelty activations spike when the doors open and fade by the next afternoon; this one did not. Whatever pulled people in on day one was still pulling them in twenty-four hours later — which is the difference between a crowd and a queue.
The field chose the hard cars
Given five cars to pick from, 42% took the Ferrari 488 and 40% the Porsche GT3 — the two least forgiving on the list. The Lamborghini and the Mazda MX-5 Cup car took 7% each, and a NASCAR stocker the remaining 2%. At a block party, with no stakes and no entry fee, guests reached for the intimidating option rather than the easy one.
Close enough to keep score
The quickest lap of the weekend was a flat 50.000. Ninety-three drivers finished within ten seconds of it. A leaderboard only holds a casual crowd if the gap between the fastest driver and an ordinary one looks closable — ten seconds across a minute-long lap is close enough that people got back in line to try again.
1,233 laps, and one guest who would not leave
The two days logged 1,233 recorded laps. The most by any single driver was 77 — and that driver’s best, a 50.010, missed the outright fastest lap of the weekend by one hundredth of a second. That is what a 46% return rate looks like from the inside.
The Setup We Ran
What this activation needed

- Throughput
- 45–60
- Guests per hour across 3 simulators, at 15–20 each.
What this means for your event
- 01
The line is the activation
At a 15,000-guest block party with everything else free to walk up to, 260+ people chose to wait. A queue is the strongest signal an activation can send — it is public proof that something is worth a stranger’s time.
- 02
It holds up at festival scale
90% peak capacity across all 16 hours means the rigs were effectively never idle. Throughput held from open to close on both days rather than spiking early and dying off.
- 03
Zero lift for your team
Three rigs, two days, delivered, staffed and run by our crew — 40+ hours of hands-on seat time that nobody on the client’s side had to manage, host or tear down.
